RECEPTIONIST

Front Office Department · Hotel Position

The post holder is primarily responsible for assisting the Purser with the planning of upcoming cruises as well as the preparation and handling of passenger billing and accounts. They provide the onboard concierge service, assisting passengers with logistical and tourist information. They are proactive, ensuring that guest inquiries and concerns are responded to promptly. The Receptionist multitasks with ease, attending to various duties such as operating the shop and handling bookings for the onboard wellness services. Friendliness, organisational skills and a professional appearance is an essential part of this role.

Requirements:

  • fluent in English & German
  • very good computer skills
  • friendly with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • well-groomed and professional appearance
  • flexible and able to assist with a variety of tasks
  • ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to diffuse tension politely
  • strong communication and organisational abilities

Nice to have:

  • good knowledge of German
  • knowledge of other languages
  • experience in similar positions as Purser, Front Desk Agent, Front Desk Clerk, Front Office Lead, Front Office Assistant or Host

Responsibilities:

  • liaise with Cruise Director to provide information on routes and stops to passengers
  • provide the onboard concierge service including information on transportation, places of interest, etc.
  • assist with various tasks such as the booking of onboard massages and hairdressing appointments, as well as operating the onboard shop when necessary
  • assist Purser in preparing and settling passenger accounts
  • follow up promptly on passenger requests that have been handed to the front desk
  • prepare information regarding guests’ special occasions on upcoming cruises, such as birthdays and wedding anniversaries
  • correct handling of the cashless system
