The Bar Waiter takes pride in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for passengers. They communicate well with international guests and are knowledgeable about the drinks menu. They are able to ascertain the tastes of passengers and assist them in making choices, going out of their way to exceed their guests’ expectations. The Bar Waiter adheres to all hygiene standards and keeps the bar area looking impeccable. A neat appearance and friendly manners at all times characterise the Bar Waiter, and they work effectively with the rest of the team to consistently deliver five-star service levels. We are looking for candidates with experience in similar positions (barman, waiter, waitress server, restaurant staff).

Requirements:

• several years of experience in a similar position
• ability to communicate in English
• knowledgeable about the wine/bar lists and types of wine and drinks
• knowledge of German is an advantage but not a must

Responsibilities:

• serve guests in a courteous and helpful manner
• ensure that your assigned station is set up to company and hygiene standards
• confidently explain and recommend selections to the guests
• follow the instructions of the Barkeeper and make sure that all the guests are greeted and seated as they enter the Bar
• attend meetings with superiors regarding the job or the ship life
• clear guests’ tables and bar counters correctly at all times
